  I have been avoiding getting my watch fixed thinking it would be a hassle. Without any issues my watch was fixed on the spot and was reasonably priced. Great customer service and wonderful to deal with. Thanks!

  Disgraceful service and dodgy sales tactics.
  
  Not knowing much about diamonds beforehand, I was sold a "perfect" Hearts on Fire engagement ring by Smales in Kalgoorlie only to find out weeks later that it was anything but, with the colour of the diamond I was sold being G-H (a perfect diamond is D in colour), and the clarity being VS-SI (8 grades lower than perfect), worth no more than $500, yet Smales charged me almost $5,500.
  
  I was promised official certification and instead received a Hearts on Fire generated, laminated poster stating the cut, colour and clarity were "sensational" which, as it turns out is completely illegitimate by industry standards and is worthless for insurance purposes. A legitimate certificate would be completed by an independent valuer such as AGS, GIA or EGL where they do not have a vested interest in the sale of the diamond. Hearts on Fire diamonds do not come with independent certification at all which actually decreases the value of diamonds.
  
  Smales do not honour Hearts on Fire's 30-day full refund policy for Hearts on Fire rings even when the jewellery has never been worn, so you have literally no protection once you discover their dishonesty. The owners of Smales are also good friends with the Consumer Protection advisor in Kalgoorlie so you won't get any help there either, even if Consumer Protection in Perth advises you Smales are at fault and you are legally entitled to a refund. The JIA (Jewellers Institute of Australia) will also be no help because Smales pays an annual premium to be on their directory. Court will not help unless you record Smales dishonest statements with a voice recorder as everything else is just hearsay and cannot be proven in court.
  
  Sascha, the owner of Kalgoorlie Smales actually called my fiance's mobile abusively demanding to stay out of it when I requested a refund because "it's not your money".
  
  I would not recommend anyone to Smales unless they want to be completely ripped off and lied to, there are far better options for beautiful diamonds rings out there, hop on the internet and do your research on the Four C's, save yourself some hard earned money and walk away with a bigger, brighter diamond instead of going to Smales.
  
  If you must buy Hearts on Fire jewellery, go to Hearts on Fire's website, scroll to the bottom, change the country to US where you will notice an immediate 15% saving plus any savings in the current exchange rate. Then you will also be protected by Hearts on Fire's own 30-day return policy that Smales refuse to honour.
  
  Smales Kalgoorlie- you should be ashamed of yourselves for how you treated us.

  As a long Term Customer with infrequent but well thought out decision making pre selection, Smales Knows Watches and Tastes. Best to do your research first and Smales will help you the rest for you. From the refined exquisite piece to a chosen family time piece to hand down throughout the family line. Having dealt with Rolex and other high end brands in Hong Kong and Singapore, Smales do have a little disadvantage in the exchange rates at times however, be well informed and then go in and make your choice known. They will be certain to ensure you get what you are seeking. Time Pieces are not on a wrist to display glamour or to over state you personal position in life, rather like "old father time", they should be passed on to the next generation and with the due care and attention to certification and valuation, a well informed shopper with these intentions in mind would be unlikely to go wrong with their customer care - in my experience. To purchase a time piece on a whim is rather risky business and they are likely to advise you of the same. Purchase a watch that you like but importantly a piece that will go through your family and their families over time. Then you will have made the right choice....In my humble view. I have never been disappointed and know quality collectors who purchase refined pieces over time for these reasons and echo my experiences of Smales. Not everyone will be happy, particularly if you have not done your homework. Research the pieces and learn about value that is greater than in $ terms from a watch that is passed form eldest daughter or son to the next blood line of eldest daughters and sons. Watches gain value, ironically, over time. So take time to select your piece and allow your prodigy to gain the longevity and value in holding a piece that was once a great great grandmother or fathers piece. Smales will guide you but impulsive purchases are likely to be disappointed from their own lack of research and reasons for the purchase particularly if it is to show bling when you really don't need to do that to dress yourself above your social expectations. Like all good watch sales outlets Smales do know a lot about watches and I have a great deal of respect for their knowledge, even if it takes me over 12 months to select the piece I intend to hand on to my children and their children children. Smales, like all reputable sales outlets will advise of the importance of keeping certification, boxes, links and maintenance of these time pieces. Like purchasing a dimond, you can purchase for the shine and bling renowned in "Hearts on-Fire" Or you can purchase the same brand for the value. Hearts on Fire are renowned for the exquisite ability of their cut regardless of grade. You need to do your research to chose either or cut and or value or both. Of Course, you will pay for a fine cut and you will pay more for a higher grade and expert cut of these diamonds. Doing your research first is the key, Smales will guide you there after in regard of what you seek from your chosen piece.
  
  A ring on the other hand, of course is only symbolic, but to chose value and the meaning of symbolic rings to meet you expectations - must be a personal decision based on budget - do so with research first, so you are informed. Oh,..... My Hearts on Fire Ring came with a genuine recognised valuation certification, cut certification and this was recognise by our insurers.....and its value has increased already. Best to know the Dimond Guide of the 4 "C"s as listed on their web page first when it comes to diamonds. Pays to do your homework. Ask Smales, Im certain they would agree.
